Frosty Waffle Cones at Wendy's

Tis' the season for ice cold Frosty's from Wendy's, and now there's a whole new way to enjoy these frozen delights.

I always wondered why Frosty's weren't offered in ice cream cone form, and finally.. they're going to be available in a sweet and crispy waffle cone.  I can already see myself enjoying more than a few of these during the dog days of summer!

Holy Guacamole!  As part of Carl’s Jr.’s and Hardee's partnership with “Man of Steel”, a super burger for super fans has been launched called – the Super Bacon Cheeseburger.  The first thing that caught my attention, is that this big boy will sport six strips of bacon that are woven together to make a "bacon nest" if you will.  I for one cannot wait to try this incredible looking burger.  The Super Bacon Cheeseburger is available now at all Hardee’s restaurants and debuts tomorrow at Carl’s Jr. locations.

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s Vanquish Hunger with Epic New Super Bacon Cheeseburger

CARPINTERIA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Carl’s Jr.^® and Hardee’s^® present a super burger for super fans. Boasting six slices of bacon, the new Super Bacon Cheeseburger is available now at all Hardee’s restaurants and debuts tomorrow at Carl’s Jr. locations. The newest premium burger offering from Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s is part of the restaurants’ promotional tie-in with Warner Bros. Pictures’ release of “Man of Steel,”^TM in theaters June 14.

The Super Bacon Cheeseburger features a charbroiled beef patty, American cheese, mayonnaise, tomato, onion, lettuce and a super serving of bacon, with six full bacon strips woven together into a crispy bacon nest. Prices start at $3.99 and may vary by location.

“We knew ‘Man of Steel’ was going to be the must-see film this summer, so it was the perfect partnership for our must-eat burger this summer, the Super Bacon Cheeseburger,” said Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s. “With melting American cheese and six interlocking strips of bacon – three times the amount found on other bacon burgers – it truly earned the name ‘Super.’ And we were excited to be able to have the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill, featured in our ad and to have it directed by the talented Zack Snyder, who directed the film. It will be an epic movie and an epic ad for an epic burger.”

The Super Bacon Cheeseburger will be promoted through a “Man of Steel”-themed commercial created by Los Angeles- and Amsterdam-based creative agency 72andSunny. The TV commercial highlights the unsung, everyday heroes in Superman’s world: these “supermen” deserve a super-satisfying burger. The spot can be viewed on the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s YouTube channels (www.youtube.com/carlsjr and www.youtube.com/hardees) and will begin airing on television on May 27.

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s will be offering guests a series of four 40-ounce collectors’ cups for purchase featuring the Superman emblem and characters from the film, including the Man of Steel, Jor-El and General Zod.  “Man of Steel”-themed premiums will also be offered as part of any Cool Kids Combo at Carl’s Jr. and participating Hardee’s.

Review - The Donut House Collection of K-Cups for Keurig Brewers

I've got to admit.. Donuts are my vice, and coffee is my lifeblood. When I heard that there was a collection of K-Cup packs for my single serve Keurig brewer, dedicated to both classic donut house coffee and donuts.. I about flipped my lid.

The good folks at Green Mountain Coffee are proud to bring you "The Donut House Collection".  The lineup consists of five good straight forward coffees, that remind you of a day where you knew what to expect and you were never disappointed; Donut House Regular Coffee, Donut House Decaf, Chocolate Glazed Donut, and Cinnamon Roll. 

These K-Cup packs are inspired by the spirit of a small town, all-American diner, where the answer to, “Are you having coffee,” is always, “Yes, and keep it coming!” and oh how I know my diners and donut houses!  I reviewed three of the four coffee's listed above, and below are my findings..

Donut House Light Roast
Now this was an excellent cup of coffee, and indeed reminded of the good old fashioned Donut House Coffee.  While this coffee is designated as a light roast, it is still somewhat bold (but not bitter).  It's definitely full of flavor, and incredibly smooth.  Have you ever had a cup of coffee that makes you go "Mmmmm" with every sip?  This is exactly what this coffee does for me.

As I sipped on a cup, my mind instantly transported me back to my younger years when my old man and I would sit at the counter of the local donut shop.  There was all manner of old timers perched at the bar sipping on a coffee and eating donuts.  Some were occupied with the newspaper, while others were gabbing away about current events.  There always seemed to be a sweet old gal behind the counter as well, making sure everyone's coffee wasn't getting too low.  Amazing that a good cup of coffee can take you right back, as if you stepped into a time machine.

Chocolate Glazed Donut
I normally don't go for flavored coffee's.  Many times the flavors seem forced, as if an over abundance of flavoring extracts were used.  This Chocolate Glazed Donut flavor however was perfectly balanced.  Imagine a fresh cup of coffee that's had a tasty glazed chocolate donut liberally dunked into it.  Miinus the crumbs of course.. (a testament indeed to their ingenious "All Coffee No Crumbs" motto).  Adding cream and sugar to the equation simply makes the coffee more enjoyable, and further helps to mimick a sweet donut flavor.

Cinnamon Roll
Another flavor that's hitting on all cylinders!  I'll be darned if this coffee doesn't smell and taste as if a freshly baked cinnamon roll was dunked into it.  Just like the Chocolate Glazed Donut flavor, the taste compliments the coffee without overpowering the delicate roast.

The flavored varities of this coffee leave no aftertaste, like some flavored coffee's on the market tend to.  I'm already a huge fan of Green Mountain Coffee due to some of their other products, as well as the way they sustainably conduct business.  I very well may never have to look any farther for Keurig coffee varieties, because they are just that good.  If you're searching for good old fashioned coffee, or even new coffee taste combinations for your Keurig, I highly reccommend trying out The Donut House Collection of K-Cups.

Honey Mustard and Chili Cheese Wheat Thins Review

I was initially skeptical when I heard of these two new Wheat Thins flavors, but fortunately.. they did not disappoint.

The first new variety I sampled was the Honey Mustard.  They tasted both sweet and tangy, and were full of flavor.  Being a lifelong fan of Wheat Thins, I was extremely happy that the flavoring was not overdone.  The classic Wheat Thin flavor comes through nicely, and is all around a very tasty cracker with a nice mellow yet sharp taste.  You definitely get a nice powdery fingertip thing going on, similar to when you're eating Doritos.  Some may not dig it, but I definitely do.

The Chili Cheese Wheat Thins were not as spicy as I was expecting, which allowed for the classic sweet Wheat Thin flavor to come through, but that's ok.  There's a lot of taste to them, but they are surprisingly mellow on the palate. The flavors definitely take their time to kick in, but if you're eating a bowl, or even a couple handfuls of them, you will definitely get a wee bit of warmth from the chili. The cheese flavor is very mellow and pleasant, and definitely works well with the mild bite you get from the chili.

Another thing that impressed me about these crackers, is how well either would work with dips.  The crackers would balance perfectly with mild cheeses, various dips, and hummus.  I'm definitely a big fan, and cannot wait to build my next party platter with these two varieties of crackers.  The flavor combos you could come up with are endless. 

If you're a fan of Wheat Thins, and want to shake it up a bit in regards to tastes, I definitely recommend these crackers.

Fresh Banana Milkshakes at Steak 'n Shake

Shucks, as if I didn't need yet another reason to swing by Steak 'n Shake as soon as possible..

These shakes look so good, I can hardly wait to try one.  I'm leaning towards trying the Peanut Butter Banana first, but am also curious to see what the Ultimate Banana version is all about.  I'll make sure to share my findings here, if and when I get to try them out.
